Queenie’s Adoption Story

Happy Tails for Queenie, by Jack Barry

I went to Puppy Adoption Day last month at Hollywood Feed as a volunteer for SCAA. While there, I saw a darling girl dog who was obviously older than the super-adorable puppies getting all the “oohs” and “ahhs.” They got all the attention, but I could see this girl had smarts and class. Plus, she obviously had a big heart. I spent a few minutes with this strawberry-blonde beauty, who someone had chosen to abandon on the roadside, and felt an instant connection. Later, I couldn’t get her out of my mind. I had a bit of a crush on the dog the shelter was calling Queenie. I found out she was being fostered and went to visit with her. I could not have been more charmed. SCAA was kind enough to allow me to adopt this wonderful young lady, and each day with her has been a great joy and a lively entertainment. I look forward to loving her and being loved by her for as long as we both shall live!
