Olin has a long tradition of encouraging its employees to volunteer. Second Chance Animal Alliance’s new relationship with Olin Corporation – Winchester Division gives employees the chance to use “volunteer time off” to serve with SCAA.
Along with dedicated volunteer support for our adoption and foster events, the Olin – SCAA partnership also found another happy benefit.
Olin employee Alex Foster, after volunteering with Second Chance, did just that – Alex decided to give resident shelter dog Fabio a second chance. Fabio has been in the shelter for x days, and was deemed by workers as a dog “who did not like other dogs.” Alex took Fabio home as a foster, introducing him to his other two dogs. Fabio came alive, and got along with Alex’s other dogs. Placing Fabio in a safe and comforting environment allowed Fabio to come out of his shell and accept love from humans and other dogs.
A week later, Alex adopted Fabio.
