Spay & Neuter Program

Our spay/neuter voucher program offers an accessible, affordable option to spay or neuter Yalobusha County residents’ pets.

About

Why Spay or Neuter

Spaying and neutering controls the stray and neglected pet population and improves lives of animals in our community. This spay/neuter voucher program offers an accessible, affordable way for pet owners to take this important step.

  • Health Benefits: Spaying and neutering can lead to longer, healthier lives for pets by reducing the risk of certain cancers and infections.
  • Behavioral Improvement: Sterilized pets often show reduced aggression, less roaming, and a decrease in unwanted behaviors.
  • Population Control: Preventing unwanted litters helps reduce the number of animals in shelters and on the streets, leading to fewer euthanizations.

How it works:

1. Apply for Voucher. We will process your application and email you within 5-7 business days whether your application is approved or denied.

Vouchers are single use, may not be copied or transferred, and have no cash value. A physical copy of the voucher must be presented at the time of service, otherwise payment in full will be required by the clinic. Vouchers may be redeemed for spay or neuter procedure at one of our participating vets.

2. Schedule neuter appointment. When approved, call a participating clinic directly to schedule the appointment.

3. Share scheduled appointment with SCAA. Let us know the date and time of your scheduled appointment.

Once scheduled, we will provide the voucher to turn in to the clinic on the appointment date.

4. Present voucher to veterinary clinic at time of scheduled appointment. Vouchers only cover the cost of spay or neuter, and will not cover any ancillary procedures, emergencies during procedure, or additional procedures.
